A PC gamer but not quite sure what you’re gonna need for the latest and greatest of next year’s lineup? Don’t worry, we’ve researched and the exact specifications that you should have to best enjoy these games with!

Well, we tried to anyway, but some games haven’t really given us much details, so we’ll have to make
do. Do note that we did add in some games that were released on other platforms, but are coming for PC next year, as well as games that released late 2019 because to be frank, you could still play these games into the New Year. So do check out our lineup, and let us know what you think of the list, or what should’ve been there instead!

That being said, let’s get to the games!

#8. Red Dead Redemption II

Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the most ambitious games in recent history, and brings us back to the times of the Wild Wild West. Now, this game, like Gears 5, actually came out late 2019, so while it isn’t the latest game for 2020, it’s still relevant for our list purely because of the replayability value it adds to the table. The game has plenty to do and could very well take you into the New Year playing it.

Red Dead Redemption 2 comes with an expansive, amazing story line along with online play to keep you entertained after the story. That’s where Rockstar seems to be keeping their heads at right now, just like did they with GTA Online, so that basically ensures content being pumped into the universe continuously. But let’s get to what the game is all about.

Red Dead Redemption 2 has us taking the part of outlaw Arthur Morgan whose part of the Van Der Linde gang, and they get into all sorts of trouble and adventures. It’s a very well-crafted story, with a bunch of depth built into the game. You’ll be able to loot basically everything, hunt all sorts of animals, go fishing, rob people, go basically anywhere in the HUGE map, and also side missions with a surprising amount of variety. That’s the beauty of the Red Dead Redemption 2 universe, because it really just so much value for your money. It’s one of the first games in a long time which kept me playing till the end, and even dabbling in the Online mode for a bit.

For people who haven’t experienced this game yet, really has to. Especially if you’re into the outlaws,
wild west scenario, and cowboys. Even I wasn’t the biggest fan of cowboys but I knew this game would an instant hit. But Red Dead Redemption 2 is bringing more to the table for PC gamers, as it’s going to be offering HDR support, and lets you run the game on high-end display setups with 4K resolution and beyond. It also lets you configure the game to a multi-monitor configuration, widescreen, faster frame rates, and more. It truly will be the best way to experience the game in all its glory.

For PC gamers, Rockstar recommends you have either an Intel Core i7-4770K or AMD Ryzen 5 1500X processor, 12GB of RAM, HDD space of 150GB, and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 6GB or AMD Radeon RX 480 4GB graphics card. And trust me, you’re going to want to experience the game in all its ultimate graphical performance. Because it is just that beautiful.

#7. Doom Eternal

Doom has been a PC staple since the franchise’s massive debut back in 1993. Pioneering the first-person shooter genre, Doom has revolutionised the gaming landscape in more ways than one. From the prospects of the first-person aspect in gaming to the mere concept of gaming in 3D, for a while in the 90s, Doom was the benchmark in determining whether your IBM computer was even capable of playing video games in the first place. And now, in 2020, Doom Eternal may just do the same for modern PCs.

Thanks to a substantial and fresh reboot of the franchise, thanks to the efforts of id Software and
Bethesda, 2016’s Doom was an unprecedented hit that brought players back to the glory days of
demon-slaying in the 90s. With a massive hit in their hands, it was only a matter of time before the
developers announced an all-new sequel. Doom Eternal is expected to be released on PCs and consoles sometime in 2020.

From what we’ve seen of Doom Eternal, the game is bringing back the high-octane, fast-paced gameplay that rewards players who shoot creatively and maintain their momentum, all while getting new weapons and covering yourself with more and more demon blood. While fans are more than happy that most of what made 2016’s Doom absurdly fun, the fine folks at id Software has revealed a number of new additions coming to Eternal.

The first is that more than twice the amounts of demons will be debuting in Doom Eternal, so players have to really be on their toes as they fend off the likes of the Marauder and Doom Hunter, as well as returning demons from previous games, like the Pain Elemental and Arachnotron. These demons will also have a new mechanic where they are progressively damaged and deteriorated as they receive damage from the player. Another new mechanic is with how the player respawns, instead of predetermined checkpoints, the player will respawn where they died as long as they have 1-Ups to spare. Extra weapons like flamethrowers and even missile launchers can now also be attached directly onto the player’s armour.

While 2016’s Doom only required an i5 processor and a midrange GTX GPU, we can expect no less than an i7-9700 processor coupled with the Nvidia GT 9600 graphics card to fully enjoy all the demonic mayhem that Doom Eternal will be  providing to players across the globe. The game is slated for a March 20, 2020 release.
