TM Records Highest Unifi Customer Increase Since 2012

This last three months ending September has been very pleasing for the largest telecommunication company in the country,  Telekom Malaysia Berhad Group today announced its financial results for the third quarter and has its revenue grow from RM8.82 billion to RM8.89 billion, thanks to the increased unifi customer base.

Recording a higher interest for the broadband service last experienced in 2012, Unifi net addition totaled 55,000 adding to total customer currently at 1.06 million. Making it the most it has achieved in a quarter for over 5 years. It also reported that out of which 94% of the customers are on the 10Mbps and above packages compared to 75% last year, showing for a strong demand for higher bandwidth among its home users.

The group saw the internet revenue rise to RM2.96 billion, contributing to 33% of  total revenue and for the third quarter crossing the RM1.0 billion revenue mark for the first time. Dato’ Sri Mohammed Shazalli Ramly, Group Chief Executive Officer, TM said, “I’m particularly happy to report that we saw stronger growth in unifi and our recently launched special unifi packages tailored for online entrepreneurs and students at institutions of higher learning will help further boost technopreneurs’ businesses and students’ learning on a digital platform.”
