Not everything that’s invented has a practical use, but this one definitely does. The Reservoir Pillow from Instagram user @unnecessaryinventions has given me flashbacks from every night I’ve woken up, needing a glass of water. Or a whole bottle, for those ‘unruly’ nights. But this genuinely to me, is a genius idea. If you didn’t know, @unnecessaryinvetions, whose real name is Matt Benedetto, makes some inventions that are, well, unnecessary. He’s got a whole armada of bad ideas and seemingly useless inventions, but I think he’s hit the jackpot with this one.
The Reservoir Pillow, while looking impractical, does what it needs to. I mean, sure, you’ll be sleeping on a plastic bag filled with water, but have you ever heard of water beds? Yeah, they were a thing once upon a time.
Here’s what Matt had to say about his invention:
“The Reservoir Pillow™️ Can’t…get out…of bed…need water! For whatever reason you are literally dying of thirst in bed, our newest pillow will be right there with zero effort required. Rest your head on this rugged plastic pillow with an integrated hose and valve to consume that precious h2o while you are dreaming away. *protip: try NOT to wet the bed this time.”
While the idea is seemingly ridiculous, I can’t shake the feeling of wanting this. Nothing I hate more than waking up and needing some water, and needing to reach for my bottle which is empty because I was lazy to fill it before bed. I mean, am I the only one who thinks this is a great idea? I don’t know. Maybe I am crazy. But man, if I had the chance, I’d buy it the moment it was available.
