Looks like it’s a good time to be a Witcher fan because you’re getting sooo much content out of the expansive universe that is the Witcher franchise. Now, after the massive success of Netflix’s The Witcher series, comes another project that Netflix themselves are working on. A new animated Witcher film – The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf. Yeah, you heard that right.
A WITCHER ANIME.
Well, we don’t really know if it’s going to be in an anime style, but it’s definitely sounding so. Netflix confirmed the production on Twitter after rumours had been around on the internet. And why I say it might be an anime-ish version is because the studio who’ll be making the film is Studio Mir, the guys who made The Legend of Korra series. Which was awesome.
The rumors are true, a new Witcher story is in the works! The anime film, The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf, will take us back to a new threat facing the Continent. Brought to you by the Witcher team @LHissrich and @BeauDeMayo, and Studio Mir the studio behind Legend of Korra.

Not much other details around about the upcoming Witcher anime, including the cast. But The Verge did report that the plot for it will essentially feature “a powerful new threat facing the Continent.” While the plot will indeed expand on the live-action Witcher series, but no word on whether they’ll be canonically linked together. But either way, I’m stoked that there’s even more Witcher stuff coming about. The games were fantastic, and I even liked the way they portrayed the universe and characters in the live-action Netflix adaptation (Except Triss Merigold, of course.).
Hopefully, we get some more cool stuff. Because at this point, I’m running out of stuff to watch on Netflix. Anybody else have that problem? No? Just Me? Okay.
