CES 2019 just wasn’t ready.

Osé, the controversial sex toy that took CES 2019 by storm is finally being offered on pre-sale, a year after the controversy that led to it being awarded a CES innovation award. The sex toy sparked controversy when it brought to light gender bias in the tech industry, leading to debates on what can and cannot be exhibited at the worlds biggest tech trade show.

You see, Lora Haddock, who is the founder of Lora DiCarlo (the company that made the Osé)  had been selected as a CES 2019 Innovation Awards Honoree in the Robotics and Drone category. But barely a month later, according to emails Lora DiCarlo provided to press, the committee took it back. The CTA, which runs CES deemed the Osé to “be immoral, obscene, indecent, profane or not in keeping with CTA’s image” and thus, disqualified it from contention.

So what exactly is the Osé, anyway?

Well, the Osé is a ‘massager’ like no other, offering “blended orgasms,” that stimulate a person inside and outside their body at the same time. Yup. I never even knew that there was such a thing as blended orgasms but hey, you learn something new every day I guess. On top of that, the CTA even announced that it would allow sextech companies to exhibit at CES 2020, which safe to say, is an all round win for gender equality.
