Xiaomi announced the launch of the Mi 9, the company’s first triple camera flagship, in Malaysia. The Mi 9 features an AI triple camera, class-leading 20W wireless charging and performance powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform. On 3rd of April 2019, Xiaomi Malaysia held a Live-stream event to show off their new device. The Live stream had a contest that would give one lucky customer an exclusive Mi 9 Transparent Edition (12GB+256GB). All people had to do was guess the correct price of the Mi 9 (6GB+64GB), which is RM 1699 btw.
The phone comes in two variants, being:
- 6GB RAM + 64GB Storage for RM 1699
- 6GB RAM + 128GB Storage for RM 1999
Other specs of the phone include a rear 48MP triple camera setup with an Ultra Wide angle lens, 20MP Front camera, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, and a 6.39″ AMOLED Display. Another thing to note, the Mi 9 supports 20W Wireless Fast Charge, which is a definite plus. The Mi 9 128 GB will be available for purchase at official retail outlets, and the first 1000 customers with get the 20W wireless charging dock for free. It sounds like a good deal for people looking to pick up the Mi 9. Pre-orders start on 6th April for the 128GB version, and stocks are expected to arrive on 13th April 2019. You will also be able to get it on contract with Maxis. While the 64GB variant will be exclusive to Lazada.
