The Latest WhatsApp Beta FINALLY Has Dark Mode; Here’s How To Get It

WhatsApp’s dark mode has been rumoured to be coming for quite a while now, but it’s finally here. Even though they hit 5 billion installs on the Google Play Store, they still didn’t have a dark mode, but this latest beta update solves all that. The 2.20.13 beta update for WhatsApp gets you dark mode, along with call waiting, fingerprint lock for WhatsApp, among other things.

You’d have to be enrolled in the beta, but if you’re not, you can download the APK from the link here. And don’t worry, I’ve tried it, and it works like a charm. No need to fret over if the update will brick your WhatsApp or delete your chats (well it didn’t happen to me anyway) but still, update at your own risk. Once you’ve downloaded the update, go to the settings in the app, tap Chats, and go to Theme Selector and choose the dark one.

It’s a cool little addition to the app that makes it feel more whole, and all the more customisable. Something that I’ve felt was missing from the WhatsApp UI for awhile now. Let us know in the comments what you think of the dark mode? Something to get excited for or something you couldn’t care less about?
