WhatsApp Is About To Get A New Feature; Call-Waiting!

Have you ever realised that you can only get one call at a time on WhatsApp? Yeah, I hadn’t. But now it makes sense why other calls wouldn’t ring while I was already on a WhatsApp Call. But now, that’s all about change as the new WhatsApp update brings a new Call-Waiting function for voice call on Android. WhatsApp already released the feature of iOS users last month, so this one’s finally coming to Android.

The feature is available on version 2.19.352 of the stable Android app along with for version 2.19.357 and version 2.19.358 of WhatsApp beta.

So what does this mean exactly? Before this, if you were getting a second call, WhatsApp would automatically reject it with message saying “Person is on another call”. Bug now, WhatsApp will show you a drop-down menu where you can choose between the call you’re on, rejecting the incoming call, or answering the incoming call.

It’s not that substantial, but a very welcome, and much needed feature. With the new Call-Waiting, there’s also new UI which includes the standard grenn ‘End & Accept button’ to pick up the second incoming call, as well as a ‘decline’ button to reject it. But you should know, you can’t keep a call on hold or connect both calls at the same time and merge it. But admittedly, it would be pretty cool if you could.
