With the holidays fast approaching, it’s only natural that we round up some of the tech gadgets, stuff, and gifts that we think are a must have. Because what better way to celebrate, than to buy something shiny and new?
Now it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to gift these to someone, because why not take the time to get yourself something that will really bring in the New Year with some new stuff to tinker with. We’ve got a collection of all sorts of stuff this time around in Gizmos, so check out some of what we think, will be the perfect gifts this holiday season! (Also, Happy Holidays from the PC.com team, and a Happy New Year!)
To kick things off, we’re going to be posting gifts in certain budgets, starting from gifts RM 999 and below! Let us know in the comments what you’d like from our gift guides!
With that being said, let’s get to it!
Anki Overdrive Starter Kit:
What better way to spend the holidays with your kids than some good ol’ fashioned racing. Nope, not actually driving cars, or playing a video game, but something entirely different. Our older readers will be able to remember those Hot Wheels, or those battery-operated electric rail tracks, but now it’s time to step into the future. Anki’s Overdrive Starter Kit comes with 2 robotic supercars, 10 tracks that you can assemble, a four-car charging system, and tire cleaner.
Each of the supercars is basically a self-aware robot that’s driven by A.I. and they even have weapons to disable other cars on the track, and other sort of upgrades. They’ll recognise any track you build, and will even be aware of your play patterns, and it’ll grow with you. It’s like combining a video game with the physical world, so it’s pretty cool if you ask me. You’ll be able to get the Anki Overdrive Starter Kit for about RM 900 – 813, so keep on the lookout if you’re interested!
Nintendo Switch Lite Pokémon Sword And Shield Edition:
Now you’ve got the new Pokémon Sword And Shield, what are you going to do with it? Buy the latest Nintendo Switch Lite Pokémon Sword And Shield edition of course! This is definitely for the hardcore Pokémon fan, but why not right? The Nintendo Switch Lite just released in September 2019, and the new version, the Pokémon edition is coming just in time for the holidays. While it’s not officially available in Malaysia, you can still get it for RM 949 online, and at game retail outlets. It doesn’t feature anything updated or new for the Switch Lite lineup, but it does look sweet. It has a grey body, with redish and blue face buttons and joysticks. It really does look sweet, and I know I’d be happy to get one for Christmas!
Asics Nasi Lemak:
How much do you love Nasi Lemak? A lot? Well you’re not the only one, as Asics has come out with a limited–edition GEL-Kayano 5 OG, but reskined it and called it the “Nasi Lemak”. It features off-white colours for the rice and egg white, green for the cucumbers, red for the sambal/chilli paste, yellow for the egg yolk, and brown to reflect nuts/kacang and anchovies. I mean, it’s pretty nasi lemak centric, but low-key it’s a pretty unique looking shoe too. The ASICS Malaysia “Nasi Lemak” GEL-Kayano 5 OG is limited to 500 pairs and only available at SneakerLAH 2019, retailing for MYR599. You probably can’t get it yet, but keep on the lookout for the shoes from resellers, who are probably going to charge a higher mark up. But hey, everyone loves Nasi Lemak right?
