HONOR today announced that the HONOR Band 5 will come in three new colors namely Olive Green, Coral Pink and Midnight Navy on 12.12. Retailing at RM 149, the fitness tracker will be available to purchase at RM 111 in conjunction with HONOR’s 12.12 sale starting at 12 AM on December 6.
The HONOR Band 5 comes with features such as 10 fitness modes, heart rate monitor, and sleep tracker up with up to 14 days of normal usage on a single charge. The HONOR Band 5 is also equipped with a 0.95-inch AMOLED illusion screen with a resolution of 240×120 and a 2.5D curved glass.
But truth of the matter is, they wouldn’t have to add in new colours like this IF they had just made the watch removable from the strap. It makes no sense to tether the device to one strap, when everyone else making fitness bands are making it the norm. What if you got sick of the colour band you got? Are you going to go buy a new device? No, it doesn’t make sense to just for that. It’s sad really considering that it isn’t a bad device, but this limits it’s potential quite harshly in terms of customisation. Sigh, should’ve thought this one through huh, HONOR?
