Red Dragon
The GTX1070 is fast becoming the most embraced card of the new Nvidia’s 10 series (Pascal) line. While it might not be as powerful as the top of the line GTX 1080, the lower price and high performance means that it makes a good replacement to the popular GTX 970. With a little tweak in terms of performance and design, MSI has released their own version of this card, the MSI GTX 1070 Gaming X 8GB.
Twice the Fun
Gone is the single fan cooling solution by NVIDIA, and in its place, is the new MSI TWIN FROZR VI cooling design. Two MASSIVE fans pushing heat away from the copper heatsink that are joined to five heatpipes, this leading to great heat dissipation from the chipset. This, paired with a custom PCB leads to MSI able to give this card better speed and higher limit.
Slim Shady
While the card is quite large when viewed directly from the top, it sports a slim profile. Thanks to the large fans, it’s exactly two slots high, meaning that you can use the third PCI slot directly beneath it. A large black aluminium bracket at the rear keeps the card from sagging under its own weight. The backplate has various holes to help with cooling, as well as an MSI dragon logo etched on for that extra coolness.
Point 1: Trio of Modes
The card has three profiles, Gaming, Silent and OC which can be changed depending on your needs.
Point 2:
The 8GB GDDR5 VRAM should suffice for most of your gaming needs. With the plethora of outputs like HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4, the card can easily do 4K resolution or even VR if you want.
