Switch it up: Zelda launches on Switch (and other games)

Nintendo Switch is released today and one of the first big titles on it is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

It’s an open-air adventure, where you travel as Link across vast fields, forests and to mountain peaks as you discover what has become of the kingdom of Hyrule. There’s also an expansion pass that gives you access to three new treasure chests, DLC Pack 1 (available this summer) and DLC Pack 2 (available in the 2017 holiday season) as the content becomes available.

The game is available for both Nintendo Switch and Wii U at a suggested retail price of $59.99 (approx. RM 270). New compatible amiibo for the new Zelda series include Link (Rider), Link (Archer), Zelda and a Bokoblin amiibo at a suggested retail price of $15.99 (approx. RM75)  each. A massive new Guardian amiibo is also available at a suggested retail price of $19.99 (approx. RM 90).

Nintendo eShop, Nintendo’s online storefront for downloadable games, is ready to go on Nintendo Switch.

Some other titles include 1-2-Switch – a game that requires players to face each other and not the screen. Featuring 28 games including Wild West duels, gunslinging, safecracking, cow-milking competitions, a copycat dance-off and other silly party starter.

An exclusive to Nintendo eShop is Snipperclips – Cut it out, together!, where two players cut paper characters into new shapes to solve puzzles in a creative and imaginative world. Works with up to four players to solve puzzles as a team or compete against each other in various activities.

Some of the digital games available for purchase today from third-party partners include FAST RMX from Shin’en Multimedia, which is console-exclusive to Nintendo Switch; I Am Setsuna from SQUARE ENIX , and both Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove and Shovel Knight: Specter of Torment from Yacht Club Games, which are timed exclusives; Skylanders Imaginators from Activision Publishing; Just Dance 2017 from Ubisoft and Super Bomberman R from Konami Digital Entertainment.
