Independent developer One More Game has announced that SWAPMEAT, its co-op roguelite third-person shooter, will launch in 2025 for PC and macOS via Steam. The game features a unique mechanic where players swap body parts with alien enemies to gain new abilities.
A final major playtest, Meat Lab 5, runs from May 15 to 22, offering players early access to updated gameplay. Fans can register at playSWAPMEAT.com, and those who refer three friends will secure guaranteed access for their squad, while spots last.
Highlights of Meat Lab 5 include:
- New biome and three new planets in Solar System 2
- A new Mutant Boss fight in the Mutant Space Wrestlers in Space Federation Championship Edition Belt
- Combat system upgrades: weapon switching, active reload revamp, and elemental status effects
- Gathering system with Fish Rifts, Mineral Veins, and Ancient Technology
- Introduction of Materials Trader Mike on the ship in Solar System 1
