Sunway Theme Parks has long been synonymous with exceptional entertainment and immersive adventure experiences in Malaysia. With flagship attractions like Sunway Lagoon in Kuala Lumpur and Sunway Lost World of Tambun in Perak, the company is renowned for delivering memorable family fun amidst world-class facilities and natural beauty.
But beyond thrilling rides and scenic landscapes, Sunway Theme Parks has built a reputation for innovation and technology, integrating smart solutions into every aspect of its operations.
This forward-thinking approach has earned the company the Best Tech-Integrated Theme Park award at the PC.com Awards 2025 — a recognition of its commitment to creating seamless, personalised, and future-ready leisure experiences.
Tech-Driven Leisure
Winning the Best Tech-Integrated Theme Park award at the PC.com Awards 2025 marks a defining moment for Sunway Theme Parks, solidifying its role as a pioneer in tech-driven leisure experiences.
The award reflects more than recognition. It highlights Sunway’s commitment to improving every stage of a visitor’s journey.
From planning a trip to arriving, exploring attractions, and enjoying personalised services, technology is integrated at every step to make experiences smarter, smoother, and more enjoyable.
This approach is evident across Sunway’s flagship destinations. Sunway Lagoon in Kuala Lumpur combines scale and convenience with digital tools that simplify entry, navigation, and engagement for all visitors.
Sunway Lost World of Tambun in Perak offers a different appeal, blending natural beauty, hot springs, and heritage with technology that enhances eco-adventures and cultural experiences.
What sets Sunway apart is its ability to innovate without overshadowing the character of each park. By combining smart solutions with world-class entertainment, the company is raising the standard for leisure in Malaysia and Southeast Asia, making every visit effortless, engaging, and memorable.
A Vision from the Top
Reflecting on the award, Mr. Calvin Ho, Executive Director of Sunway Theme Parks, described it as “a proud moment for all of us at Sunway Theme Parks.” He emphasised that the accolade reaffirmed the company’s vision to use technology to create smarter, more seamless, and personalised experiences for both guests and partners.
“From facial recognition entry to AI-powered recommendations and data-driven business solutions, our innovations are future-proofing the way we deliver leisure and hospitality,” he explained. Mr. Ho highlighted that collaboration across the wider Sunway ecosystem is key. “We are creating connected journeys that go beyond the parks themselves,” he said.
He added that the recognition serves as a motivator for the team. “This award pushes us to keep raising the bar and setting new benchmarks in guest-centric innovation,” he noted, underscoring Sunway Theme Parks’ commitment to continuous improvement and forward-looking experiences.

Adopting Technology
The year 2025 marked a pivotal period for Sunway Theme Parks, with technology becoming central to its operations. At the forefront is the facial recognition system integrated through the Sunway Super App (SSA). Guests at both Sunway Lagoon and Lost World of Tambun can now bypass queues entirely, stepping straight into the parks for a seamless start to their visit.
Technology has also transformed guest engagement. The SSA’s AI-powered membership modules personalise rewards, promotions, and content based on individual preferences. Visitors can plan their days more efficiently, and every return visit feels tailored to their interests.
This is supported further by an AI-driven product recommendation engine, which guides guests to attractions and experiences that match their tastes, making choices faster and more confident.
Innovation extends beyond guest experiences to the business side of operations. AI is now a core part of Sunway’s B2B ecosystem, streamlining ticketing, distribution, and partner services. By analysing partner needs and delivering tailored solutions, the parks are improving efficiency across the value chain.
2025 also saw the expansion of Sunway’s partnership with Klook. Building on the success of exclusive Nights of Fright ticketing in 2024, the parks introduced dedicated Klook counters and express turnstiles. This first-of-its-kind system in Malaysia demonstrates Sunway’s leadership in digital-first engagement and sets a new benchmark for the industry.
Building a Future-Ready Ecosystem
Moving forward, Sunway Theme Parks is expanding the Sunway Super App to integrate technology across its ecosystem. For guests, this means smarter AI-driven personalisation, with intuitive recommendations and seamless planning. Navigation, transactions, and engagement will all be effortless.
For partners, the app enhances data insights and connects accommodation, travel, wellness, and other Sunway services, creating a seamless experience across parks, hotels, retail, and healthcare. AI also supports sustainability tracking, resource optimisation, and animal care, improving efficiency while advancing long-term innovation and sustainability goals.
Collaborating Is key
Sunway Theme Parks credits its success to both guests and partners. “We are deeply grateful to everyone who voted for us,” the team said. “Your trust motivates us to keep pushing boundaries and delivering experiences that are smarter, safer, and more enjoyable.” For visitors, the award reflects loyalty, with every visit designed around their needs.
For partners, it is a shared achievement. Collaborations have strengthened the SSA ecosystem, expanded AI capabilities, and delivered solutions across tourism and hospitality. As Sunway notes, “Together, we are building more than parks—we are shaping future-ready destinations.”
