Nike and Stussy have unveiled the latest colourway in it’s experimentation with the Air Zoom Spiridon Cage 2 silhouette and this time, they’re keeping things rather simple with a monochromatic black. Stussy has been playing around with the Air Zoom Spiridon all year, with its first drop comprising of the silver “Pure Platinum” and fan favourite cream coloured “Fossil” colourways.
Stussy then took it one step further, mashing up the Air Zoom Spiridon with the Air Kukini to produce a sneaker with the former’s silhouette and the latter’s web cage overlay on the upper. The sneaker, dubbed the Air Zoom Spiridon KK, is set to release in July. That too, comes in two colourways.
On the latest release, Stussy and Nike go back to keeping things simple, with blacked out Stussy branding on the tongue, tip of the toe and heel counter of the sneaker. Stussy opted to go with a gray midsole that offers a bit of contrast, probably to make the black webbing on the shoe’s heel bubble stand out a little.
All in all, the sneaker looks great but if you ask me, the “Fossil” colourway still takes the cake. This monochromatic black comes in at a close third behind the white Air Zoom Spiridon KK’s though. Whatever it is, it’s safe to say that Stussy has done a great service to an already great silhouette .
There’s no release date announced for this pair but you can fully expect it to drop sometime this year for US$160 (RM698).
