After successful foray in Penang and Johor, Startup Weekend Ipoh will be happening this week in the foodie city up north. Startup Weekend a brand by Techstars from Colorado, USA, is a Global Entrepreneurship Ecosystem that is focused to build companies in 54 hours throughout the organised hackaton.
Ipoh situated midway between Penang and Kuala Lumpur has a vibrant youth energy to it and gives an opportune reason to kick-off a program in the town. The event will see investors, mentors, entrepreneurs, Technology Talent from all over the country make to Ipoh to help build ideas that would then turn into companies.
Partly supported by Magic, Startup Weekend Ipoh is a first of such an event is being held in city. According to the organisers in the past 5 months, Ipoh’s Tech + Business community grew at an accelerated pace. What took Penang, Sarawak, Johor a minimum of 2 years to achieve, in took only 5 months and are now commanding attention from all around the world.
Start-ups seeking to showcase their projects can head on over this Sunday 4PM or could just sit by the sidelines to watch the pitches of every Startup take the stage at SMK St. Michael Institution.
