Sony not only lift the curtains for its band of new smartphones called the Xperia Z5 Series yesterday, but it also introduces two new wearables, Sony SmartBand 2 and SmartWatch 3.
SmartBand 2
The lean-looking band is a multi-sensor life logger that covers almost everything from your fitness levels, well-being and stress levels. It has an accelerometer and heart rate sensors to gauge your overall fitness, excitement and stress levels throughout the day.
The band also works as an activity tracker to record actions like walking, running and other workouts, side by side you heartrate counts. And with Lifelog, Sony’s own app, you will get fun comparative insights and motivational messages based on your current pursuit.
When you’re asleep, the SmartBand 2 continues to track your sleep pattern so that you’ll enjoy a better trip to dream land every night. In the morning, it will gently wake you up at the best time for you based on your sleep cycle with soft vibrations.
You will also get subtle vibrations and visual feedback through colourful LEDs when you receive a call, message, email or notification. Play music on your smartphone or tablet simply by tapping on the band, which works for pausing and skipping through the tracks as well.
More importantly, with around one hour of charging, the smart band will have reached full battery capacity and can last up to two days. It also has silicone casing, which not only makes it look stylish, but also ensures durability.
Despite its capless microUSB, the band is waterproof so that you can wear it anywhere and everywhere. You can find it in Sony Store at The Curve and KLCC as well as selected Sony Centres and authorized dealer outlets for RM599. The SmartBand 2 is available in white, black, indigo and pink.
SmartWatch 3
The latest generation of wearable technology from Sony has come. It is the first of its kind to be specifically designed for the latest Android Wear updates in close collaboration with Google.

The 1.6” LCD Transflective display doesn’t glare in your eyes when hit with bright sunlight. The smart watch is made with stainless steel back panel for a premium look and feel. And of course, it is waterproof.
With built-in 4GB local memory, you can sync playlists and listen directly from the SmartWatch 3 with a Bluetooth headset so that you don’t have to lug around your phone when you go for a run. The watch includes a GPS sensor technology so that you can track your run, too.
