Pebble Technology Corporation, who make some of the most practical smartwatches in the market, have successfully begun to ship their latest model, the Pebble 2. Posts on the company’s social media pages indicate that the Pebble 2 has already landed on the wrists of many of its early Kickstarter backers, and they should be done with the initial batch of shipments by the end of the month.
Of course, this isn’t the company’s 2nd product, having released the Pebble Steel, Time, Time Steel, and Time Round in the last few years. The Pebble 2 carries its name because of its design and target audience. Like the original Pebble (unofficially known as the Pebble Classic), the Pebble 2 sports a rectangular appearance and is largely plastic in construction.
The low weight of the Pebble 2 goes hand-in-hand with a heart rate monitor, making it an excellent fitness tracker. The new Pebble 2 is priced at US$130, and has a few notable features including:
