Okay, I’ve been covering a lot of Disney + stories lately, I’m sorry (not really).

Anyways, it’s been reported that Samuel L. Jackson is making his return to the MCU as Nick Fury but instead of a movie, he’ll be starring in a Disney + series. Personally, I’m looking forward. The last time we saw Nick Fury was in Spiderman: Far From Home where the real him was apparently on holiday, chilling in space while the Skrulls took his place.

When will it be release? In what order? What’s the plot? Not much details so far on the project other than Kyle Bradstreet, best known for his work as a writer for Mr. Robot, being on board as a writer and executive producer.

Jackson has played the role of the leader of super-spy agency SHIELD in the MCU films since the original Iron Man was released in 2008. With Jackson’s appearances used to bring characters together or tease upcoming films in post-credit scenes, Nick Fury has been a key part of the connective tissue between the different films in the expansive film franchise.

The new Disney+ series would mark the first time that Jackson has filled the lead role for a Marvel series and could see the actor play a similar role in tying together the various TV series planned for the service. The last (and possibly only) time we saw Nick Fury on the small screen was during the end of the first episode of Agents of SHIELD.

The new Nick Fury show will join the long list of Marvel tv series spinoffs that are in the works at Disney+, including WandaVision (due out later this year), The Falcon and the Winter Soldier (delayed until 2021), and Loki, along with the animated What If…? 

In different stages of preproduction, Marvel Studios has also announced 4 other series: Hawkeye, which will reportedly see Jeremy Renner reprise his role as Clint Barton; Ms. Marvel, focusing on the popular Kamala Khan iteration of the stretching superhero; She-Hulk, which recently cast Tatiana Maslany of Orphan Black in the lead role; and Moon Knight, which has yet to announce much information.
