Samsung To Compete Again In The Mid Range Segment With Galaxy A8

A8

After the launch in China and home land Korea, Samsung will be bringing the A8 to battlefront Malaysia next week, PC.com has just received the invite confirmation today. Lets start with the invitation design,(there is always some clue)  it shows 8 gold and black “A” alphabets stacked on top of each other possible reference on the colours to be announced but the phones were introduced as gold and white in Korea. Could we be getting different colours?

Moving on, the Samsung A8 is refuted to be slimmest phone from its arsenal at a mere 5.9mm thick, the phone also comes with an ultra thin 16mp ISOCELL camera sensor allowing the tiny size to fit into the already slim chassis of the device. The units were priced at $563 with SK Telecom which worked out to be breaking the 2K psychological mark if converted to ringgit, a tad on the pricey side? With the A8, Samsung is probably addressing the highly competitive mid-range market with the likes of Xioami, OPPO and other China brands dominating at the moment. Nevertheless, the A8 does pack punches with its features like a 5.7-inch full HD display, powered by 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 615 SoC, 2GB RAM and 16GB storage.

Fans can also be certained the fingerprint scanner is included into the home button like the S6 and comes with 5MP front facing camera and despite the thinness is able to pack a 2050mAH battery. In terms of OS the phone comes with the latest Android 5.1.1 Lollipop.

We will have more updates next week after the launch including specifications, pricing, colour availability and telco plans if any.
