Samsung Galaxy S10 could feature up to six cameras

The Samsung Galaxy S9 was introduced in the first quarter of 2018 and is starting to show its age. There has been a lot of rumor going around about the next Galaxy flagship. Samsung may unveil the S10 line somewhere in the first quarter of 2019 to replace the current S9 line.

First and foremost, Samsung will be releasing three devices under the rumored S10 line up instead of the common practice of two devices under the flagship Galaxy lineup. The entry model will feature a flat panel design instead of a curved edge and a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Higher end S10 devices will feature the curved edge screen with an in-display fingerprint scanner. Rumor has it that there will be three models with different screen sizes; 5.8 inch, 6.1 inch and 6.4 inch. Samsung has filed the patent for the Infinity-O display where the bezel-less display will feature a cut out for the selfie camera.

The S10 will be powered by either Samsung’s Exynos 9820 or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8150 depending on the market. You can expect it to be a really powerful device since it will feature some of the most powerful chips in the market. The Snapdragon 8150 recently nailed the Antutu benchmark test giving a really promising result. With the next generation chipsets making its way to future flagship phones, you can expect 5G connectivity in the S10.

So far. there are no news on the deletion of the 3.5mm headphone jack so we can still remain positive that it is here to stay. As for the photography department, the entry model will have a dual rear camera setup and a single selfie camera. The “standard” model will feature a second front facing camera with a total of four cameras. Meanwhile, the S10 Plus will have a fifth camera on its rear; a 12MP wide-angle lens, a 16MP super wide-angle and a 13MP telephoto lens.

Samsung also did mention about unveiling a fourth phone, the ‘Beyond X’. This is in conjunction with Samsung’s 10th Anniversary of their lineups of phone. The ‘Beyond X’, which could possibly fit in the S10 line, is rumored to feature the sixth camera.
