Kobe Bryant, one of basketballs greatest players has been reported killed in a helicopter crash in Southern California, he was 41.

Having played for the Los Angeles Lakers most of his career, the NBA Champion won 5 championship rings in his 20 year career with the Lakers. In 2008, he was the NBA Most Valuable Player, he won 2 Olympic Medals for the US team. He retired in 2016. The star on court shared his spotlight with predecessors Magic Johnson, Karim Abdul Jabaar and Shaquille O’Neil of whom all played for the Lakers.

The Sunday crash also took the life of his 13 year old daughter and 7 others on board, according to officials. Cause of the crash is still unknown and would probably take months before the aviation agency can produce any conclusive report.

Bryant was known to frequently fly in helicopters to avoid the infamous Los Angeles traffic.
