At home, my computer is located in the upstairs common area, while all the Internet stuff (the modem and router) are located downstairs. The wireless signal strength fluctuates, sometimes bordering on just plain horrible to just ‘meh (read: average)’. Thus, as a PC.com writer, it lies upon me to ensure that I get a solid network connection in every corner of my home. With the D-Link Wireless AC750 Dual Band Range Extender, it has never been easier.
Plugged In
D-Link designed the DAP-1520 with a smaller profile, which is great for power points with limited space, or in my case, one who isn’t bothered with cable management. After plugging it in, you will have to do some minor setup and you’re ready to go.
Minor Hiccups
There are two ways to configure the extender: either using your computer’s Wi-Fi connection or through an app (iOS/Android) on your smart device. Oddly enough, the former option didn’t work as my D-Link wireless adapter cannot find the extender. The latter, on the other hand, works like a charm. I got the thing properly configured in less than 10 minutes.
