Cooler Master releases the Cooler Master MasterAir MA620P to address a growing issue. It’s beefy in looks and delivers as per its size. The best bit: it can work with multiple CPU socket types and is friendly to the immediate market rivals.
It Ain’t Heavy
With the introduction of the new AMD AM4 socket, designed specifically for the AMD Ryzen, a big problem immediately appeared. Oddly, there are not many supportive third-party coolers. For those looking to get a new cooler that supports the new AMD processor out of the box, don’t fret. Cooler Master mad sure it has something in hand for folks who don’t plan on converting their old coolers; all thanks to the brand-new Cooler Master MasterAir MA620P.
It’s a Brutish Cooler
Let’s get this out of the way first: the Cooler Master MasterAir MA620P is hefty; in fact it’s one of the heaviest air-coolers to land at PC.com Tested Labs. The bulk of the weight comes from the two densely packed aluminium fins stacks; all of it sits inside the twin-towers that connect to the base of the cooler. Complementing that are the six heatpipes that work with two Cooler Master MF120R RGB fans; this collaboration is what keeps the heat away. The weight alone contributed to the long installation time.
It’ll Bear All Burdens
Here’s an odd story – the size and heft for this Cooler Master didn’t get in the way of the setup; even for something as small as the Mini ITX Gigabyte GA-AB250N motherboard. Surprisingly, the Cooler Master also cleared both the tall high-performance RAMs and do not block any pathways. Similarly, the performance is top-notch. Full loading the AMD Ryzen 5 2400G didn’t produce much heat too; after all, the Cooler Master reduced temperatures to an amazing 50⁰C. The best bit: it’s all done silently too!
