Review: A&S H49FNMY100

Big Screen Goodness

At 49 inches, the A&S H49FNMY100 is a big screen designed for the living room. What makes this TV great is the value proposition; it costs lest than most flagship smartphones in the market today, and yet it supports just about any input device out there with ease. Be it a computer, game console or yes, the smartphone – the A&S H49FNMY100 can handle it all.

Just Ok Display

At this price point, you are lucky if you can get high-resolution picture quality out of the box. The A&S H49FNMY100 does deliver – up to a point. If you are sitting three metres away on your sofa, the viewing experience is great. That image will shatter once you step a bit closer – the pixels are quite big and can be discerned up close as the pixel density is quite low. Other than that, the viewing experience is pretty decent.

Plastic All The Way

A&S elected to use plastic as the major building component of the TV, and it does impact in both price and build quality. It is cheaper than competitors, but the feel of the TV is a bit on the cheap side, especially for the plastic stands. It would be great if the stands are at least metal. However, it also means that the TV is light, so wall-mounting it will not impact the wall.
