If you’re an owner of the RE camera, you might be interested to know that HTC has released a free update to the RE app in the Google Play store, which includes the new live streaming function for their RE cameras.

The new live streaming feature on the RE app allows RE users to not only capture great video with ease, but also to share special moments and favorite events with those who can’t be there. The live streaming feature is a simple-to-use and handy add-on to get the most out of video capture, making it easy to broadcast a piano recital, snorkeling adventure, puppy cam and more. With the RE app, sign in to your YouTube channel and activate live streaming. Once verified, broadcasting from your RE is a snap. Any live footage you wish to share is transmitted directly from RE to your smartphone, which then sends your broadcast to your YouTube channel. iOS users can expect the RE app update to go live on the Apple app store sometime in Q1 2015.

Aside from the RE app update, HTC has also announced a strategic partnership with Under Armour Inc today. Under this partnership, HTC will be designing a series of products to work seamlessly with UA Record, the newest addition to Under Armour Connected Fitness, the world’s definitive health and fitness network.

“Mobile innovation has completely changed people’s lives in recent years, making us more connected to our world than ever before. Now we want to help people be better connected with themselves, helping them to achieve their goals and gain deeper insight into their own lives to become the best they can be. By joining forces with Under Armour, one of today’s most exciting and ambitious leaders in empowering athletes, we are taking the first step on this journey and will provide consumers with a range of connected health and fitness products and services that no other brand can match.” says Peter Chou, CEO of HTC.
