Thanks to a leak by prolific leaker @evleaks, we have the first image of the upcoming Razer Phone 2. The render shows a phone that looks pretty similar to the previous generation, with minor tweaks in design.

What stands out immediately is the rear camera. The camera now lies in the middle of the back, rather set to the side. No other information on the camera is known – so we do not know if Razer will do a telephoto-zoom arrangement like the previous model, or a secondary monochrome sensor for higher details in the image.

Otherwise, the phone looks to be similar to the original phone, down to the lack of 3.5mm audio jack. The single USB Type-C is still at the bottom of the phone, and we should expect an audio dongle in the box for wired headphones. Thankfully no notch is in sight, and we should be seeing the same stereo front-facing speakers as with the Razer Phone.

One speculation on why Razer is keeping the same form factor is due to Project Linda. Unveiled at CES this year, the shell allows the Razer Phone to dock into it and turn into a productivity machine. As the shape of the dock is the same as the original prototype, may we see this device produced? As the clock on the phone shows, we have October 10th to see what lies in store for Razer’s Phone 2.
