Raspberry Pi takes miniature computing to a whole new level with the Zero, with its attractive smallest ever form factor at 65mm x 30mm x 5mm at the price of $5 (MYR20).

Previously we’ve seen the Raspberry Pi Model B and some others priced somewhere between $20 (MYR100) and $35 (MYR140). To further make the mini PC accessible to all, it started build the new Zero model that costs not more than $5 (MYR20).

This member of the Pi family is built in Wales and features a Broadcom BCM2835 application processor at 1GHz ARM11 core (which is 40% faster than Raspberry Pi 1). It includes 512MB of LPDDR2 SDRAM. The miniature computer also includes a microSD card slot, mini-HDMI socket for 1080p60 video output, micro-USB sockets for data and power and an unpopulated 40-pin GPIO header, It shares the same identical pinout to Model A+/B+/2B. However,due to the board limitation of the new Raspberry Pi Zero, on-board Ethernet and Wi-Fi are not included.

The Raspberry Pi isn’t something that you would want for handling your daily task like an average PC,  but from what I can see this product appeals to people with varying levels of expertise from computing beginners to seasoned hackers. The Raspberry Pi puts programmable computer within reach of anyone without breaking the bank, so making it a definite buy for anyone looking in to their first experience with programming.
