Pocophone Successor Poco X2 Packs A 64MP Camera & 120Hz Refresh Rate; But Their Marketing Is Kinda Lame

Poco has unveiled their launch date for their first smartphone after turning into standalone company; the Poco X2. The phone is set to launch on February 4th and if they’re following in the footsteps of the original Pocophone, then it’s bound to be a great value-for-money smartphone. The few details they did share on their site is that the phone will have a 120Hz refresh rate for “extreme gaming”, a 64MP cam with Sony IMX686 sensor, a Qualcomm chipset and liquid cooling.

The way they showed it off however, was pretty lame. To me anyway. It was corny as hell with the hashtag “Bruh it’s Smooth AF”. I mean, I get that you’re trying to appeal to a certain younger demographic, but this feels forced. But anyway, they also had a site which leads to a landing page that is meant to advertise the Poco X2’s refresh rate. It only works on mobile, and it’ll basically give you a different message each depending on your phone’s refresh rate. If you wanted to check it out for yourself, click the link here.

It doesn’t work on PC, but it says this instead:

I mean, I guess it’s cute. They’re trying to stand out, be a bit edgy, but to me, it comes off as tacky. Their fans however, seem to love it so, it’s probably working for em’. But before we get too hyped, let’s wait and see the actual specs this thing will be equipped with. Because if it comes with a Snapdragon 865 at a RM1300 or under price point, it just might be the budget device of the year.
