The Louis Vuitton group has been busy lately. Not content with just buying over Tiffany & Co. for billions and purchasing the world’s second biggest diamond ever found, the French luxury brand is all set to open its very first restaurant in Osaka as it looks to go into the field of hospitality.
The cafe, which will be called Le Café V (lol), will be situated on the top floor of the company’s four level Osaka outlet and will comprise of a menu curated by Japanese chef Yosuke Suga. Of course, with Louis Vuitton being Louis Vuitton, the cafe will also have a bar as well as a terrace.
Chairman and chief executive officer of Vuitton Michael Burke confirmed that LV’s first restaurant will in fact open its doors on the 15th of February, so no chance of taking your date there for Valentines day. He also hinted that the brand could explore the hospitality industry further with more eateries and perhaps even a hotel in the future.
Of course LVMH is opening a restaurant because how else are the filthy rich going to eat their food and show off how rich they are AT THE SAME TIME? Jokes aside, the move into the hospitality sector is interesting. Is this the start of a new era of global domination for LVMH? Time will tell.
