PM Launches 1Malaysia Internet Centre In Desa Pandan Now 21 In KL

Since the initiation of 1Malaysia Internet Centre at housing districts all over Kuala Lumpur, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission has set up 21 of these centres since 2013 especially to areas where household income levels are still low.
The latest addition was Desa Pandan, whereby the agency officiated the Internet Centre to a surrounding public where this will be welcome addition, they will now have access to high speed internet for free believed to be provided by Telekom Malaysia. Young and old will be able to use the facility to research, communicate and keep up to date with their more affluent neighbors. Lauded for its inclusive and raising the level awareness in these informative era, the government is taking progressive steps in keeping all Malaysians even those who are left behind on the nations digital ambitions, to catch up by using these centres.
MCMC began this initiative in 2008 as an ICT centre with basic amenities for students to learn computer usage, to small scale online business opportunity and now as a full scale internet hotpots, for even startups to began their foray to eCommerce. Community could also supplement their incomes with programs developed by MDeC like eRezeki that offers simple to complex tasks like data entry, photo fitting, required by large websites.
The centre was officiated by Prime Minister Dato Sri Mohd Najib Razak together with MCMC Chairman Dato Sri Dr. Halim Shafie among other representatives from various agencies.
