To ease congestion along highways, PLUS will be closing all reload lanes at all operated toll booths from 24 December till 2 January 2020. This is in view of the expected high volume of traffic during Christmas and New Year.
PLUS has been practicing the closure for every festive season to reduce traffic caused by customers queuing at the top-up lanes. The road concessionaire is projecting festive traffic to increase by 18% to 2 million vehicles compared to 1.7 million during normal days. This leads to unwanted congestion at toll booths when Touch N Go card users forget to reload their cards and start pilling up at toll booths.
There will be also no reload service at the exit lanes after the booths, users are advised to use the 11,000 reload centres scattered around the country including ATM’s, TnG Kiosks, R&R, petrol station for their reloads.
