Sony’s Summer Sale on the Playstation Store was launched early this month on the 5th of August and so we feel the need to give you PS gamers the down low on the best games to cop to make that summer MCO living just a lil bit more bearable. Even as we don’t really have seasons in this country, just scorching heat. C’mon Sony, read the room.
There are A LOT of games on discount right now, ranging from Final Fantasy VII to Red Dead Redemption but here are some more affordable options you don’t have to break the bank to enjoy playing.
First Person Shooters (FPS)
Prey
Prey is a first-person shooter with role-playing and stealth elements set in an open world environment. Here, the player will play as Morgan Yu, a human aboard a space station with numerous species of hostile aliens. The game is generally quite fun and has really good replay-ability over time. Definitely, one to cop. Not only that, some say it combines the inventiveness of the Bioshock and System Shock Sagas to bring a really strong pace to the shooter experience. The standard edition is priced at RM 36.30 while the digital deluxe edition goes for RM 48.60.
Far Cry New Dawn
Nuclear survivors attempt to rebuild the community in Hope County in this game. Although the game is similar to Far Cry 5, the minor tweaks here and there have made it stand out. The incredible room for exploration in this open world is also another plus. The game currently retails for RM 67.60 on the PS store.
Rage 2
Rage 2 is a first-person shooter. Players assume control of a ranger named Walker, who is free to explore the game’s apocalyptic open world. The game features vehicular combat, including trucks, buggies and gyrocopters, with the player being able to drive any vehicle in the game’s world. Very similar to Doom, the game rewards players who enter more dangerous situations with better guns, health and just all around good murderous rampage fun. Get this one for as low as RM 50.20 on the PS store.
Call of Duty®: Black Ops 4
Call of Duty: Black Ops is a 2010 first-person shooter video game developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. Set in the 1960s during the Cold War, the game’s campaign features government operative Alex Mason as he grapples with memory loss during the missions. The new Battle Royale mode Blackout breathes new life into the franchise. The game retails for RM 86.80 on the PS store at the moment.

EA Sports FIFA 20
You can’t really go wrong with a good ol’ FIFA game. Get this for only RM RM 86.80.
Action
ONE PIECE World Seeker
The series focuses on Monkey D. Luffy who, inspired by his childhood idol and powerful pirate “Red Haired” Shanks, sets off on a journey from the East Blue Sea to find treasure and proclaim himself the King of the Pirates. This iconic game really needs no introduction for long time fans of the saga. The game retails at RM 82.00 in the PS store for now.
Role Playing Games (RPG)
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition
Set shortly after the events of Rise of the Tomb Raider, its story follows Lara Croft as she ventures through the tropical regions of the Americas to the legendary city Paititi, battling the paramilitary organization Trinity and racing to stop a Mayan apocalypse she has unleashed. This movie is generally well liked, with some crowning it the best game in the Tomb Raider trilogy. Fans of Uncharted should definitely have this game a go. This 2019 release retails at RM 78.87 on the PS store at the moment.
