The highly anticipated next generation gaming console that we’ve all been waiting for, The Sony Playstation 5 has been officially made available for pre-order earlier this week and almost immediately sold out for pre-order sales in Malaysia.
It’s barely even 2 days and they’re just gone. Like the wind. What? I mean, if I had the money, I would also have pre-ordered one almost immediately as well. Don’t lie, you would too. It’s like the must have gaming console. We’ve waited so long for this.
So yeah, I guess I understand the excitement for the PS5 but wow I genuinely wasn’t expecting for it to be sold out so quick! Gamers and Playstation fans have expressed their disappointment online when they couldn’t get their hands on the PS5 fast enough.
Exactly just how many units were being sold during pre-order? I’m genuinely curious now. Netizens complained on Sony Store Malaysia’s Official Facebook page on how the consoles were sold out within minutes after the pre-orders began at midnight.

One user even expressed her disappointment as she had spent months saving money to buy the PS5 for her husband as a birthday gift.
She was redirected back to the main page where she was notified that the console was already sold out in the final steps of completing her purchase.
Meanwhile, Sony Malaysia recently announced that pre-orders can also be made at their selected retailers via walk-ins, and almost all retailers have confirmed that pre-orders have all been booked by noon.
Apparently at lot of malls are announcing on their social media page that the PS5 has been sold out as well. Sony Centre in Sunway Pyramid posted on their Facebook that all of their Playstation 5 consoles had been sold out by 12pm today.
The Sony Centre in IOI City Mall announced that all of their pre-orders were fully booked as early as 10 am as customers had been waiting in line since seven in the morning.
Guess we’ll just have to wait for the second batch to be made available. The Sony Playstation 5 is coming to our shores starting from December 11.
