
The curtains part for the worlds biggest smartphone brands in Barcelona revealing some the latest innovation that will set the tone for the industry this year. With 5G lingering at the corners for what will be the global standard in connectivity in the next couple of year, many developers are already working on devices to tap into the unlimited possibility of always-on connectivity. Among them is OPPO, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer who is stepping up its game from being just a low to mid range run of the mill assembler into a serious contender vying for a slice of the premium segment. This year OPPO unveils two innovative that involves a 5G smartphone and an unnamed smartphone that is regarded to be using the worlds first 10x lossless zoom technology.

Announcing these at a private event with the media, journalist were shown the first 5G smartphone and the OPPO 5G Landing Project which uses lossless zoom capability. 10x lossless zoom is a new technology created using camera specifications within the camera including a triple-lens camera structure consisting of a telephoto lens, ultra-wide-angle lens, and 48Mp main camera. The system uses all the camera to produce images that captures every element in the shot. Optical Image Stabilization on both the main camera and the telephoto lens helps to achieve higher, anti-shake accuracy further enhancing picture quality without compromise.
As for the 5G smartphone, OPPO includes 4k/8K video download/upload/cloud-play, 3D video calling, 5G cloud gaming and multi-player AR/VR game, in-store navigation, AR shopping integrated, immersive as part of the arsenal one can expect in the new era devices.
Those who attended the Innovation Event also got to witness the premiere of OPPO’s showcase of some of the exciting real-life applications that users will get to enjoy with 5G; from hologram calls to AR shopping as well as demonstrations of scenarios to use 10x lossless zoom.
