Fans of OPPO should be pleased to know the R7 has been officially announced for launch here in Kuala Lumpur on the 7th next month, PC.com has already received the invitation for this gala event to be held at a very high profile venue. Seems these guys are not holding back in pronouncing the arrival of their latest flagship phone rivalling Samsung in lavishness of launch locations when the latter unveiled the S6 at the Majestic. Which we shall not disclose at the moment.

With the tagline “Flash In Style” the R7 series would be packing some neat features like fast charging VOOC whereby 5 minutes can give your up to 2 hours of talk time and top notch camera in a super slim body of only 6.3mm. Two variants has been slated the R7 and R7plus being a 6 inch screen an the former a 5 inch both sporting metallic unibody with matt finishing rather than gloss.

The concept of dual sim is cleverly adopted on the R7 with both micro and nano slots available on the tray (days of buying third party sim adapters are numbered) you could also use it for micro sd. Internally the device shouts a 3GB RAM and 16GB of memory with expandable micro SD up to 128GB, processing power is supplied by the Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 which should be more than enough to task away. We shall leave it at that and provide you more in-depth view of the device during the launch and after when we get our hands for a full on review.

Having already been launched in China and available for pre-order in couple of other countries we got a guess of what the pricing for the phones would be like, a quick scroll on OPPO’s fan page  showed the R7 retail at US$399 and plus to be available in August go for US$499 with exchange rate tipping the top end of the scale at the moment we suspect it could be priced at the region of RM1499 and RM1899 over here. So what do you think? Should Malaysians hold their breath for the upcoming introduction of the R7?  Lets wait and see.
