OPPO Levels Up Their Camera Game; Introduces 10x Lossless Zoom Camera

OPPO looks set to give Huawei a run for its money

OPPO, fresh off their F11 Pro launch a couple of weeks back, have today teased the latest technology that will soon be incorporated into their smartphone line up. With brands seemingly racing to see who can add the most camera’s unto the back of their phones, OPPO have focused on refining camera tech, with the introduction of the 10X Lossless Zoom technology.

First discussed at the OPPO Innovation Event held as part of the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona earlier this year, the 10X Lossless Zoom Camera will allow you to capture portraits from a distance with great precision.

I got to test out the camera at the media preview today and I have to say that it’s sure to give the Huawei P30 a run for it’s money. Picture quality on both the devices are similar, though the P30 Pro is still by and large the device with the superior camera. That being said, the P30 Pro is also going to be the significantly more expensive device, so its worth taking that into consideration.

Utilizing a periscope lens, OPPO has managed to shrink this tech and slap it unto the back of a phone. The cameras on the phone consist of a telephoto lens, an ultra-wide-angle lens and the main camera. With Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) on both the main camera and telephoto lens, the anti shake accuracy it gives is very impressive.

“Innovation is our top priority and w have made many recent developments to bring the future to consumers hands. We look forward to continuing with this commitment and bringing to market more advances, particularly in user experience and photography.”

Nikki Chen, Branding Director OPPO Malaysia

2019 has only just begun but its been an impressive year for smartphone camera technology. With Huawei setting the bar high, OPPO looks more than ready to meet the standard they sat but at a fraction of the price to consumers.

With camera features like this and more, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled for the next OPPO release. Be sure to check back for updates on when exactly that is.
