OPPO Inks Patent Deals with Intel & Ericsson to Boost Global Business; All Set For 5G Era

OPPO recently signed a patent transfer agreement with Intel involving the transfer of 58 patents in areas related to cellular mobile communications technology. To top that off, OPPO has also purchased rights to over 500 patents from Ericsson, covering countries and regions including the US, Europe, China and India. Securing communications patents from Intel and Ericsson will serve to bolster OPPO’s technological development capacity as the company grows its business in global markets and looks forward to a 5G heavy future.

As of 2019, OPPO has deployed 5G patents in more than 20 countries and regions around the world. Being one of the leading contributors in the development of 5G standard, the company has filed more than 2,200 global patent families applications related to 5G technology and has submitted over 2,600 technical papers to 3GPP. As of July 2019, OPPO had disclosed over 600 patent families to ETSI, further underscoring OPPO’s strong standing in the 5G patent space.

The OPPO Reno recently became one of the first phones in Malaysia to demonstrate their 5G capability during the launch of 5G Live Cluster Field Trial held by Celcom in Malaysia. The Reno 10x Zoom clocked in a download speed of 1.2Gbps, showcasing the phone’s  5G performance.
