In his daily briefing, Senior Minister, Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has stated that the operating hours for food delivery riders have been extended to 12am. This will be in line with the new opening hours for restaurants across the nation.
Additionally, the PDRM is expecting an increase in traffic volume from Friday to Sunday as Malaysians are expected to return to their hometowns as the newly announced RMCO allows for interstate travels.
He further stated that 75,000 inspections were conducted on the final day of the CMCO, with over a 100 roadblocks conducted along state borders. 26 were arrested for breaching the CMCO while another 57 were issued compounds.
The standard of procedure for the number of occupants in a vehicle remains unchanged for the time being.
Malaysians can also start travelling domestically as efforts to promote safe domestic tourism is underway. Tourism Minister, Datuk Sri Nancy Shukri says that her ministry will also be implementing a few initiatives in efforts to alleviate the burden on the tourism industry
The new set of regulations will take effect starting today until August 31.
In terms of Covid-19 cases update, the country has recorded its highest-ever daily number of Covid-19 recoveries with a number of 281.
