Telekom Malaysia is facing problems in keeping up with the demands of customers using Streamyx with the replacement of Unifi Air, the telecommunications giants latest effort in increasing speeds for those who are limited due to legacy copper wiring.

Unifi Air is a wireless broadband which can offer high speed internet of up to 20Mbps for both download  and upload activity. For those who subsrcibe to the RM79 plan they will receive a free wireless router which can connect with 64 devices concurrently with unlimited data quota. The plan was constructed to overcome low speeds area like those of only Streamxy availability, however in order to enjoy Unifi Air the areas would need to have strong LTE coverage.

Plans can only be subscribed via TM Points at the moment with online service ready by November, due stocks running out at such early stage, customers will probably have to wait longer for  their Unifi Air router.

Its surprising that TM did not anticipate the number of upgrades or new subscriber since there has been pent up frustration with the current Streamyx speeds. Many users on the legacy copper lines have been waiting for a solution and the Unifi Air was seen as temporary respite until a permanent solution is found.
