LG is set to make a splash at this year’s Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas by unveiling its first production-ready 8K television set.
Last September at IFA in Berlin, the company showed off the 98-inch prototype in all its 8K glory, but it was not ready for production. This time, it should be featured on the show floor with the latest firmware, Web OS 3.0 and all of the company’s proprietary HDR, colour and contrast enhancement features.
In the past, the company has shown off 105-inch 21:9 Cinemawide 5K displays, but with very little content produced in that aspect ratio, they continue to remain a very niche product. The company has not unveiled pricing or exact specifications of its 98-inch 8K Super UHD behemoth.
