Microsoft has made available their most affordable smartphones here, the Lumia 550 and the Nokia 230 Dual Sim.
The Lumia 550 is supposedly the most affordable 4G LTE smartphone by the company, consumers can enjoy a familiar experience of their desktop when using the Windows 10 phone. During launch the phone was made available to enterprise users under the Digi SmartPlan for Business for free with a monthly commitment of RM98 for 24 months. However, it is now available to consumers starting 15 January at RM559 (inclusive of GST) at all Microsoft Authorized Reseller stores.
Features include a 4.7” HD display, 4G LTE internet connectivity, and powered by the reliable Qualcomm Snapdragon Quad core processor and 1GB RAM. Out the box you will enjoy Microsoft Office apps, which are tailored to the screen size for viewing, create, and edit documents on the go. It comes in matte black and glossy white.
Nokia 230 Dual SIM
If dual sim is your fancy you can try out the Nokia 230 Dual SIM, a quality internet-enabled feature phone that has a great battery life. What we like about this phone is the price, at just below 300 ringgit, the Nokia 230 should wipe similar feature phones off the market, with many dodgy China made models floating around a reliable brand like Nokia should allay the fear of phones blowing up in pockets.
With 2MP front-facing camera with LED flash and a shortcut camera key, the dual sim phone has a 2.8″ screen ideal for really nothing much, but then again this is not that sort of phone the target is basically at first time users, foreigner workers or a second phone when travelling. Available in silver and dark silver, it does allow users have access to popular web content with the Opera Mini Browser, and has a built-in MP3 and video player, FM Radio, and games.
