Nikon has just unveiled its new mirrorless cameras under the brand new Z-series line. The Nikon Z 7 and Nikon Z 6 are full-frame mirrorless cameras with an all new Z-Mount designed specifically for this camera.

The two models share the same body design and feature set, distinguished only by the sensor resolution and burst mode speed. The Z 7 is the flagship of the new line, featuring a whopping 45.7MP Full-frame BSI CMOS sensor with a built-in 5-axis stabliser, a first for Nikon. It can handle up to 9FPS for burst shots, and the autofocus is done with the help of 493 phase-detect autofocus (PDAF) points.

For the Z 6, you will get a 24.5MP full-frame BSI CMOS sensor and 273 PDAF points. It can burst up to 12FPS for burst shooting. The burst numbers for the two models are for RAW images, so it is more than enough for fast action photography.

Video is another key point of the new Z-series camera. It can do 4K Video thanks to the EXSPEED 6 image processor built in. For videographers out there, the camera can output 10-bit 4:2:2 Log video stream over HDMI to an external recorder or monitor. All footage and images uses XQD memory cards for fast transfer speeds.

The back of the camera sees a tilting 3.1-inch monitor with touch for playback and changing parameters during shooting. Thanks to the sealed magnesium alloy body, the camera is ready for the outdoors, and it should absorb knocks and bumps sufficiently enough.

The Z 6 and Z 7 are equipped with both WiFi and Bluetooth, as well as both HDMI and USB 3.2 Gen 2 for high-speed wired connectivity.

Availability for the Nikon Z 7 will start from 27 September, with a body-only price of US$3,399.95 (~RM13,959) while the Nikon Z 6 will be out by November for US$1,995.95 (~RM8,194). Both cameras will have kits with the new NIKKOR Z 24-70mm F/4 S lens, for US$3,995.95 (~RM16,405) and US$2,599.95 (~RM12,300) respectively.
