At the cost of RM21.6 billion, NFCP will the biggest investment in digital connectivity since HSBB for the new government.
However, Minister of Communication, Gobind Deo has reiterated that part of the funding will be derived from MCMC utilising funds contributed by network operators and the rest from private and the public. Once initiated, NFCP will offer at least 500 Mbps to all state capitals and major cities by 2021. While nationwide access of a minimum of 30Mbps can be achieved by 2023.
