Fans of the MonsterVerse will be very pleased to know that a recent test screening for the upcoming Godzilla Vs. Kong flick has met with positive audience response.
The director of the film, Adam Wingard, shared a little celebratory post on Instagram to commemorate the moment.

The post is a callback to the first on-screen clash between the two monsters in King Kong Vs. Godzilla, released back in 1962.
The film has changed its release date several times. It was first slated for a May 2020 release, then pushed up to March 2020. Ultimately, the film was delayed to November 2020 and while there was no explicit explanation as to why, the previous film’s (Godzilla: King of the Monsters) performance in the box office might have something to do with it.
Apart from that, the film will reportedly run under 2 hours, as shared by Twitter user ViewerAnon.

For comparison, Godzilla ran for 2 hours, 3 minutes, while King of the Monsters was 2 hours, 12 minutes. The other movie in the MonsterVerse, Kong: Skull Island, ran for 1 hour, 58 minutes.
But since it’s still a test screening, the film is very much subject to changes and so both duration and even some story elements may change before the final release. However, as things stand now, those changes might end up being minimal.
As it’s a test screening, I personally think that no matter how positive they are, it won’t necessarily gauge the quality or performance of the film. It is still too early to tell whether the film will be a hit at the box office in November later this year, or if there is a good amount of interest to watch the film (especially after the previous film struggled at the box office compared to Godzilla and Kong: Skull Island).
But well, if you ask me, I don’t see why you wouldn’t be interested in watching two iconic monsters fight it out on the big screen. Just, maybe try not to involve the humans too much.
