Dell recently updated its XPS and Alienware desktop PCs running on 7th Generation Intel Core processors with the new Optane memory, giving gamers that extra boost they need for their system.

Optane memory is designed to optimise computer responsiveness with up to 2×5 faster boot, 5×6 faster web browser launch, and 67% faster7 game launch (lifted from Intel brochures). It is a smart and adaptable system accelerator that adjusts to computing tasks making everything faster, smoother, easier. In theory its suppose to manage data and channel it as when needed by the processor, thus improving efficiency of the overall system. Alienware Aurora is a dual graphics-ready compact mid tower which has now been updated with Intel Optane memory, the system is capable of handling 4K gaming and VR gaming and has all the built in for any situation a gamer encounters. Taking cues from Area 51, the Aurora features front side and top side vents for efficient cooling of all internal component. The front and side fans pull ambient air into the chase and the topside fan pushes air put. It also has a liquid cool feature that uses dense copper cold plate to ensure ,maximum heat dissipation with hoses that move the liquid into a radiator that is cooled by a 120mm fan.

Overclocking

The system is built with Intel’s K series processors that delivers unlocked overclocking power. The overclocking occurs on all four cores rather that on one core to ensure games or apps can use multiple core experience. Top speed CPU reaches 4.4Ghz across all cores, it also offers memory configuration using DDR4 XMP capable of running at up to 2667Mhz.
