NetApp has introduced AI-powered data breach detection directly into its enterprise storage, along with isolated recovery environments to enable safe and malware-free recovery of critical data.
“To effectively protect your data from a cyberattack, you need to know it happened as early as possible to take action,” said Gagan Gulati, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Data Services at NetApp.
He added, “With new AI-powered capabilities to detect early indicators of data exfiltration attempts on top of our existing leading capabilities to detect ransomware attacks on both structured and unstructured data, we are making enterprise data even safer. Key cyber-resilience updates include:
- NetApp Ransomware Resilience: Formerly NetApp Ransomware Protection, this service simplifies protection and recovery for ONTAP workloads from ransomware across file and block storage.
- Data Breach Detection: AI-driven detection identifies anomalous user and file system behaviours that signal potential data exfiltration, alerting customers through their security information and event management (SIEM) system.
- Isolated Recovery Environments: Uses AI scanning to pinpoint maliciously impacted data, guiding users through recovery to the most recent safe data to prevent reinfection.
