Malaysia’s longest-running technology awards reached a new milestone on September 24 2025, as the 25th PC.com Readers’ Choice Awards celebrated its silver jubilee under the theme “The Dawn of AI”, uniting for the first time with the BusinessToday Industry Choice Awards.
The combined celebration, held at Sunway Resort Hotel, brought together industry leaders, government officials and corporate figures to honour Malaysia’s innovators shaping the nation’s digital and business landscape.
This year’s edition drew over 250 nominations across 70 categories in smartphones, telecommunications, gaming and AI-driven technologies. Voting was conducted nationwide through online platforms, social media and roadshows, garnering participation from more than 36,000 readers. A total of 60 winners were honoured for innovation, credibility and consumer trust.
Among the highlights of the night, Datuk Mustafa received the Lifetime Achievement Award for three decades of service at MATRADE, while Professor Datuk Seri Dr Mohamed Ezani Md Taib, CEO of IJN, was named Healthcare CEO of the Year. Datuk Aliff Syukri took home the E-Commerce Entrepreneur of the Year Award.
Asia Pacific University (APU) emerged as a major winner with four awards including Best AI University, while Sunway University was recognised as Best Employability University and City University as an Emerging University. Leading telcos CelcomDigi, Telekom Malaysia, Maxis and U Mobile also secured multiple awards.
Other notable recipients included Touch ’n Go, MDEC, Sime Darby Property, KPJ Healthcare, Worldwide Holdings, LHDN, LGMS, AEON, TNB, Kyocera and Epson.

As we celebrate our 25th year, it is timely that we highlight the transformative role of artificial intelligence in advancing Malaysia’s digital future,” said Selva Rajan, Managing Editor at Reach Publishing.

Making its debut this year, the BusinessToday Industry Choice Awards honoured 20 leading companies for outstanding achievements in property, sustainability, retail and education. Winners included LGMS for Leading Cybersecurity Company in Malaysia, IJN for Best Private Healthcare Provider in Innovation, Sime Darby Property for Most Innovative Industrial Asset Developer and MDEC for Best AI Ecosystem Driver.
Organisers said the strong participation has set the stage for a larger and more elaborate edition next year.
