ROG Xbox Ally Series Opens For Pre-Orders

ASUS Republic of Gamers (ROG) today announced that pre-orders for its latest handheld gaming devices, the ROG Xbox Ally and ROG Xbox Ally X, are now open in Malaysia.

The ROG Xbox Ally series, developed in partnership with Xbox, introduces next-generation handheld gaming powered by AMD’s new Ryzen processors. The ROG Xbox Ally X is equipped with the Ryzen AI Z2 Extreme processor, while the ROG Xbox Ally carries the Ryzen Z2 A processor. Both models are designed to deliver stronger performance and improved battery life compared with the previous ROG Ally.

According to ASUS, testing on pre-release hardware showed the ROG Xbox Ally X offering up to a 30% performance boost in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle and Doom: The Dark Ages, alongside double the battery endurance in Hollow Knight: Silksong. The standard ROG Xbox Ally was noted to provide up to 20% better performance in Forza Horizon 5 and Gears of War: Reloaded, with battery life extended by 110% compared with its predecessor.

The handhelds run on Windows 11 and integrate features from both console and PC gaming, including compatibility with leading game storefronts. Both also support AMD’s latest graphical technologies, such as FidelityFX Super Resolution, Radeon Super Resolution, and Fluid Motion Frames, aimed at enhancing frame rates and smoothness.

The ROG Xbox Ally X also includes an onboard NPU, which the company said is “ready to support future AI-driven features in gaming.”

Pre-orders for the devices begin today exclusively via the ASUS e-Store, followed by authorised resellers from 6 to 15 October. They will be available in stores nationwide from 17 October.

Pricing for the handhelds starts at RM2,699 for the ROG Xbox Ally and RM4,299 for the ROG Xbox Ally X.
