IF the Government does not revoke the Movement Control Order come June 9, Malaysia will still not have hair salons and entertainment outlets opening. While the latter affects a splinter of the population, hair salons and barbers have affected us all.

There are murmurs that CMCO will be lifted and all retails sectors will be opened with SOP’s in place, when inquired about the possibility, Senior Security Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob gave no indication on what will be decided this week. But no fear, for those who are itching to have a haircut can head on over to Sarawak, the Borneo state will be lifting the order imposed on salons and barbers come June 8.

The easing will only be for haircuts and not for facials, head massages or any other services offered in these premises. Sarawak has been in the green zone with minimal Covid 19 cases recorded. Peninsula folks can visit the state for business purpose with supporting visitation schedule. Apart from hair salons, recreation parks and eco tourism are now being opened to spur the tourism sector back up.

Sarawak seems to be more progressive than Peninsula, even the date for the reopening is one day before the CMCO deadline, maybe they know something we here are not told.
